Work gets in the way sometimes

This is going to be one of those weeks where I have a number of things I must do, all kid-related, that are going to cause me to have to leave work early, or, come in late.

I don’t like it when I have to alter my work schedule like that. While I’m lucky that I have a job with enough flexibility to do that, I really don’t like to emphasize that my absences will be kid-related.

I’ve got nothing to hide, but, my coworker is younger and childless, and, my boss is older with grown children, and, though they really don’t care, I’m very aware of loading them up with kid anecdotes and reasons I’m going to be late to work on a particular day.

All in all, a banner week in store for me spent taking vacation hours 2 at a time.
