Tax time!
It’s getting close to the April 15th deadline for Americans to file their 2007 income tax.
Side note: this is the first year we’ve filed before April, in well, forever. My youngest was born on April 15th, and, for the longest time he thought the people at H & R Block were his friends since we ended up celebrating there every year, but now we use Turbo Tax. It rocks.
Anyway…
Besides income tax returns, some U.S. taxpayers will get a rebate check this year (which, by the way are going to be mailed out in order of your Social Security number).
Just FYI, Turbo Tax has some handy online tax tools, including a Tax Rebate Estimator so you can get an idea of what your rebate might be.
Also, did you also know that some people can use TurboTax for free?
If you earned $30,000 or less or were active military duty or qualify for the Earned Income Credit, you can use the resources at TaxFreedom.com to fill out your forms and e-file and determine whether you qualify and how you can participate with TurboTax Freedom Edition.
If you’re getting a rebate from your hard work with both your career and kids, don’t spend it all on one place.
You can always buy me lots of different things.

I’ve been busy this week getting all of our itemizations together. It’s worth the time spent to get back the extra money.

I hate that TurboTax is so expensive (I have to get the Home and Business edition, because I own a business), but there is no denying it is probably the best and most complete package out there. It saves me more than its cost.
Plus, (unless this has changed, I haven’t started this years yet) you can deduct the cost of it next year (save your receipts).
