Talking too much during a job interview
It’s happened to all of us at one time or another: you’re in a job interview or other important meeting, and, you suddenly realize you’re rambling. It can be embarrassing, but, did you know it could also hurt your chance at getting the job?
The Career Journal tells us of ways to rein it in, and, get to the point.
Some of the suggestions are: prepare short statements about how your background matches the job, and, be sure to watch the interviewer’s body language.
Go read the rest and commit it to memory so you know what to do when you find yourself talking and wondering along with the interviewer about what’s going to come out of your mouth next.
Your job may depend on it.

This happened to me - I was interviewing for an elite management program at my place of work (they took 7 people out of the 20 that interviewed and only interviewed 20 out of the 50 applications) and the feed back I got was that I was that I did not get to the point quick enough and I offered way too much detail.
While I was devastated at the time but it was priceless feedback and it has helped me enourmously since then.
