Snow day!
Winter weather has started in some parts of the world, and, sometimes that means school is closed on a moment’s notice.
We are fortunate that, since my husband is a teacher, he is usually out of school when the kids are, but, every now and then if the bad weather starts during the school day, he can’t leave to go pick up our kids, and, sometimes I can’t either as a I work at a hospital.
I’m not really looking for how everyone who’s not in your part of the country over reacts to inclement winter weather, but, what’s the plan at your house when the kids’ school name go scrolling across your TV screen as “CLOSED”?

Scotland. Lots of rain. Hardly ever snows. School closure has never happened. (Can you hear that noise? Fate waiting to drop a large weight on my head……)

We are pretty lucky in that if I can’t get off work AND Mr. D can’t get off work (unlikely), both of our mothers are employees of the school district, so it would be a rare occasion that one of them couldn’t get them. Further, my FIL could do it, OR my assistant. Lastly, one of the daycare workers is our babysitter and she can drive the kids home.
Now, watch… we will have a snow day and all of that will totally collapse.
