School year brain
With the school year coming to an end, everyone in my house has had their thoughts turn toward summer, sun, and, vacation.
Though we try to keep everyone on track, because school isn’t actually out, yet, it’s hard to stay focused.
My husband is a teacher, and, I’d rank his focus right up there with the kids’, but, I’m not going to throw stones, because I’m doing it too, and, I don’t even get to be off for the summer.
Even though I work full-time, year round, I think my brain never left school year mode because everyone in the family, except me, operates on a school year basis.
I still get excited at the beginning of a school year, even though I don’t get new notebooks, and, pens, and, I count the days until the end of the school year even though my life doesn’t change much.
I think I even subconsciously look for my employer’s name on the news when it snows, and, the school closings are reported.
I really need to get my work focus back on track, because, there’s no 3 month (actually, 2.5 month) vacation awaiting me, and, the Alice Cooper classic doesn’t go, “Work’s out, for-evah”
Well, if it did, then I’d have to rename this place, “Kids”.
