Scheduling home repairs when you work
Nobody likes to schedule home repairs, especially when you have to enter between 8 and 12, or, 1-4 purgatory. But, when you work away from home, it becomes even more difficult to schedule these things.
While some places have repair hours later in the day, you’re at the mercy of others. I’ve learned that you can sometimes request to be the last stop of the day, and, sometimes places will even give you a 30 minute warning so you can leave work, and, meet them at home.
Why is this on my mind?
Well, last week we had both HVAC units break down on us at separate times, and, now? The refrigerator is ADR (”ADR”? It’s a technical term. I’ll try to explain: Ain’t Doing Right)
Did I mention we’re in the middle of a huge drought, and, the temperatures have been in the triple digits for..well, forever now. Not really a good time to have no air conditioning, and, no refrigerator.
So. Here I sit at work, returning to what I thought was some normalcy of a schedule after the irregular back to school days. Now, I’m waiting for a call back since I may have to go back home and meet the refrigerator guy.
I’m lucky that my schedule is somewhat flexible, but, even I’m getting annoyed with me working weird hours.

Yep feeling the same way because I don’t have steady child care at the moment…
