Planning a day off

by elizabeth on December 19th, 2007

I was looking at my schedule for the rest of the week, and, I thought I’d have to go to work late on Friday.

Somewhere along the line, I agreed that my daughter could have the whole basketball team to spend the night tomorrow night.

However, reality slapped me in time, and, I realized that after having 11 teenagers to spend the night, I won’t exactly be in a work mode, so, I’ll schedule a preemptive day off.

I is so smart sometimes.

It’s just inviting a kid to get sick, though, isn’t it?

I was JUST going to comment that you are not allowed to plan days off. If the day off, however, is totally spontaneous, it doesn’t allow germs to replicate in time.

You need to wage a day off “ambush” just to guarantee no stomach virus or bout of strep. Add in a pending holiday and you might as just schedule the doctor’s appointment right now.

There are mental health issues to be raised for even agreeing to having 11 teenagers for a sleepover…but scheduling metal health days off probably wouldn’t go over well with HR, huh?!
