Office pranks

Even though I’m not wild about “rah rah” events at work, I’m all about a good office prank in the right context.
Perhaps it’s not something we teach our kids about the workplace just yet, but, then again, we don’t want it to be a lost art, either. (”Listen, and, learn, Grasshopper”)
Some pranks, at least in health care, are legendary, such as classics like having “Dr. Shorts, Dr. Jim Shorts” paged overhead in the hospital, or, sending a new employee to central supply to pick up a “Fallopian Tube”, and, I’m sure other industries have their favorites.
My favorite personal attempt was when I worked evening shift in the ER. I had accidentally gotten some medicine in one eye during an emergency procedure, and, it made my eye dilate quite significantly.
The night shift doctor was getting ready to come on duty, so, the group made me lie down on the floor right in front of his side door entrance, and, pretend I had passed out.
He would allegedly find me, and, see I had one eye dilated like someone with a stroke or brain injury, and, do whatever he was going to do, and, then I’d “awaken”, and, say, “HA!”
Joke was on us, though, he came in, stepped over me, and, told me to get up.
We did get him back later, but, recounting the nature of the revenge might be a bit much for the weak of stomach. Let’s just say it worked beautifully.
Here’s more than you might ever want to know about office pranks. Do you have any favorites?
