This week’s Speak Your Mind Question: If money was no issue, would you work and what would you do?
My entry:
I have to work. I’m married to a teacher, and, I’m the primary breadwinner. I could wax philosophical about what we pay our teachers, but, I’ll spare you.
This time.
Working is simply my reality, and, that’s OK.
If money weren’t an object, I’d still work, it’s just what I do, but, you can be sure that I’d be first in line to apply for something fun. Not that you can’t have fun in any job, I’d look for something where my primary concern didn’t have to be pay and benefits.
Truthfully, I’d like to be able to say that I have one meaningful passion that I’d pursue if I could. But, actually, I would love to be able to do whatever strikes my fancy without any repercussions of how it would look on a resume, and, if it allowed me to do it while the kids were in school.
Maybe I’d blog full time for a while, then move onto working at my neighborhood Starbuck’s until something else got my attention. I’ve always been one to get something in my head that I’d like to try, and, then I’m satisfied after I try it out.
I’m not sure what my “ideal” job would be, but, I’m thinking something along the lines of going out to lunch and shopping on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and, Thursdays from 10-2 with full-time pay, of course.
May I send you my resume?
