Greg Page of the Wiggles Retires

by mike on November 30th, 2006

The Wiggles - Wiggly Wiggly ChristmasGreg Page of the Wiggles has left the band and if you don’t know that you need to read more b5media blogs.

He decided to step down because of the orthostatic intolerance he is suffering from.

I originally didn’t plan on writing anything about this because the kids are not huge Wiggles fans. The kids enjoy it when it is on but never ask for it when it is not on.

My wife just made a comment while heading up to bed, though, that put the whole thing into a perspective worthwhile of mentioning here.

She said something expressing her shock and hopes for a recovery, but then said “He has many millions of dollars. He will get the best doctors.”

Here is something to keep in mind as we try to climb the financial ladder. Sometimes you when you get to the top, weird bizarre diseases nobody has ever heard of can bring you to a quick hault when you are 35 years old.

I’m sure Greg gave up many hours and days with his family touring with the Wiggles and bringing joy to kids all over the world. There is a lot of heartfelt concern for his health around the internet.

Now, instead of being able to retire with the money he earned and go away with no worries, he has to deal with fighting for his health through no fault of his own.

This should be a reminder for all of us to remember that no matter how hard we decided to fight to increase our earnings, to make sure that we constantly fight to keep our ability to spend time with our family. You never know how many times you will be able to chase the kids around the house or go for a walk with your spouse.

The key is to find a healthy balance between your career and your family.

[…] My son will be heartbroken. The Wiggles are a staple in his insatiable quest for music. Read more about it here. I knew that they were doing a lot of cartoonish episodes with no real people dancing on screen…and they were also substituting the group being on stage for their little happy dancing assistants to get some air time, but I had no clue it might be from orthostatic intolerance. I figured they were just getting older and didn’t feel the need to show their faces as much. I hope that Greg gets better. He was the lead singer. […]

My daughter is a huge Wiggles fan. I wonder if Greg looks back now and regrets not spending more time at home with his family. I’m sure they understand that he has to go on tours but it still must have been hard for them.

I wonder if the kids ever got to tour with them. It would be interesting to see a memoir written somewhere down the line on the men behind the famous skivvies.

I am very sad when I found out that Greg retired. We are got the movie from payperview “Wiggle:Getting Strong” when my husband called me saying, “Look mama they change Greg from the wiggles.” and then I went to surf the INternet and foun out the reason. Be strong Greg and hold on and pray for you to get better. My kids are all wiggle fanatic. Even their couch is wiggle.

    Dear Greg,
I just wanted to let you know that my grandson asked about you about three times a week. He is six years old and you were is favorite wiggle. At first he did not want to see Sam replace you he wanted you to come back. He also wants updates on your medical conditions. He wants to be a Wiggle when he grows up. He and his little cousin has started their own little band and does the Wiggle songs. When he grows up he wants to be just like you a ROCK STAR….
