A big decision
Overheard at lunch: a young professional man on his cell phone telling a potential employer telling them he can’t travel, or, accept a certain low (I think) salary because his daughter is 17 months old, and, he wants to be around to “be a dad”.
He sounded a little disappointed that he couldn’t take the job, because it’s obviously urgent, but, he was adamant about what he needed in a job.
He also declined an additional in-person interview to discuss the matter because he was here (in my city) because his father-in-law is gravely ill, and, he can’t be away from his family.

Funny, at lunch today I had to listen to someone trying to talk someone else into getting involved with Amway. Party #2 agreed to as long as #1 came with her to a church retreat and accepted Jesus into her heart.
There was some sellin’ going on I tell ya’!

I know. I want to tell him, but, then I reveal myself as a crazy old eavesdropping lady with a computer.

That is a huge decision and one that I don’t think enough people think through thouroughly enough.
Hubby and I had a similar decision about our respective jobs/careers this week and unfortunately there are not clear cut answers for us
