5 Working Parent Wishes for 2008
The end of the year is filled with serious, sincere and philosophical resolutions and vows to make things stronger, weigh less, smarter, more organized, etc.
This isn’t one of those posts.
I’m not always so good with the resolutions, but, I am all about wishing for stuff, so I present to you my not-so-serious 5 Working Parent Wishes for 2008:
1. A sick child detection unit - One sweep over the child in question would let you know the nature of the suspected illness, the estimated duration, and, built in decision making about whether or not they should go to school.
2. A washer-dryer combo in the car - think of all the time savings, but, even if I had one, I don’t know if it would make me actually fold and put the clothes away.
3. Web controlled meal selection and preparation unit - sign in around 2pm, and, let it decide what’s for dinner, and, fix it, and, a wonderful meal awaits everyone when you get home from work.
4. Pause button for the office - Urgent report due at 5pm? Junior’s championship game starts at 4:30? Put work on hold,go to the game, and, everything will be waiting for you when you get back, just as you left it.
5. Wardrobe-o-matic - From the makers of the “Dinner Selector” this handy little devices checks the weather conditions, the office conditions, and the “scale conditions”, and, decides what you are going wear to work that day.
Is that really too much to ask?
I mean, even if these only come out in beta, I’ll be happy.
Happy New Year to all!

I would like them to perfect human cloning, please. One of me at home, one at work. Problem solved. Have a great New Year!
