Utah will become the first state to institute a 4 day work week for state workers to save money, energy and resources.
However, there are concerns about child care and public transportation that doesn’t run at the later hours, but the overall move is projected to reduce energy use 20% by 2015 as well as […]

I was on vacation last week, and today was my first day back at work.
I’m desperately trying to follow my own advice about decompressing after vacation, but I don’t know how well I’m doing with it.
I left myself way too much work to do at home and at my job and am regretting […]

I’ve often written about how summer is a mixed blessing for me.
I’m married to a teacher, and with him and the kids on summer vacation, I’m beat since I don’t exactly get to do “summer” like they do. My summer schedule is much like my fall, winter and spring schedule.

And, since I am the place where memes go to die, it’s taken me quite a while to get to it.
So, here ya go:
1. How did you find out you were pregnant?
Heh, I’ll use the third time as an example.
We […]

The place where I used to work had a daycare for sick kids.
It was a drop-in place that cared for kids with mild illnesses so parents could go to work. It was staffed by nurses, was a nice place and there were rules and criteria for using it.
I know that the sick child care was […]

When I read things like this, I’m always amazed, but I guess it happens or people wouldn’t be writing about it: YMCA addresses issue of unsupervised kids:
MUNCIE — The YMCA is many things, but one thing it’s not: A summer day care facility.
Yet that too often is what the Downtown Y has become and that […]

My friends at Work It, Mom! are having a contest!
You can have a chance to win a Sony Reader (I want!) and other goodies, by filling out the 10 question Breadwinner Mom survey.
Nataly gives us the background behind the survey:
With the growing numbers of breadwinner moms I am often surprised by the scant discussion in […]
