Getting into vacation mode

Summer is vacation season. There all kinds of hints about decompressing after vacation, but, what about if you have trouble relaxing enough to get into a vacation?
I know when I have time off, sometimes the pressure of having to relax because, “it’s vacation” (Relax! Now!) has the opposite effect on me.
Sometimes, I have trouble […]

What an interesting question.
My first thought was, “I wonder if someone would ask a working father that?” I’m not sure, why I felt that way, but, at first it seemed […]

Work at Home Challenges

Deborah at Work From Home Momma has a series of posts about “Work at Home Challenges” that most of us can relate to, even if we don’t work from home.
She covers topics such as focus (hey, look over there, I think I need to get something to drink), e-mail, and, time.

Job Satisfaction Survey

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) released it’s annual survey listing the Top 5 “Very Important” Aspects of Job Satisfaction.
This is apparently where those annual surveys you take at work go.

The Top Five were:
-compensation/pay-
-benefits
-job security
-flexibility to balance work/life issues
-communication between employees and senior management
That pretty closely mirrors my place of business, and, […]
